Well researched and interestingly written — a very personal glimpse into an important figure in the 20th century history of Indian classical music. Besides sketching a picture of Annapurnas life and times, one gets a different and complex view of Ravi Shankars early years than one finds elsewhere. One also begins to develop a slightly clearer sense of Annapurnas father, Allauddin Khan. [description per d.r.israel]
